3/365 - Marie Grennell - Dublin
In today’s chat I met 91 year old Marie Grennell from Marino. Listening to her beautiful voice, it’s almost like going back in time to speak to my granny who was also from Marino (it turns out our families know each other).
She tells us about her youth, her family, volunteering in the Order of Malta and meeting her beau, Lauri Grennell. She’s pictured here with Lauri’s old banjo, himself a keen musician who set up the Universal Folk Club in Dublin City in the 1960s.
