268/365: Marie McLaughlin, Donegal
Think about the amount of women in the world. And then understand the amount of scientific and medical research that goes into treating menopause. For something that will affect a huge amount of the population, there is very little said about it in the media, or even in conversation amongst friends. In 2026 we still harbour shame around talking about "women's issues”.
Marie was 46 when she went to the doctor thinking she was losing her mind. Instead, she was in perimenopause, but had no idea.
She then went on an intense journey of research and discovery. She became a bit of an expert on the topic and has even written a book. In the book, you’ll find a “Letter to Men” which is something I suspect an awful lot of people need to read.
